Natural Childbirth Classes:
This class will emphasize natural pain relief methods by practicing
relaxation techniques, movement and positions for each stage of labor
and birth, breathing techniques, and other comfort measures. We will
also discuss anatomy & physiology, the roles of hormones in pregnancy
and labor, and how to recognize early labor. We'll discuss the pros & cons
of epidurals, and inductions, and how to make the best choices about
when to use these medical interventions, as well as what happens during
a cesarean birth. The class will wrap up with the topics of breastfeeding,
understanding the newborn, and postpartum care. We will observe a short
video at each session, and there will be plenty of time for questions
and to practice the techniques you learn. Moms will leave with a deeper
trust in their bodies; birth partners will feel more confident in their
ability to provide loving and vital support on the big day!
In this class we will focus on birth as a healthy, normal event!
